Actress. One of 10 children, she wanted to be an actress at age 5. She took up post-graduate studies in drama, and her stage work opened doors in the movie industry. Reynolds worked in more than 30 films, with one of her most memorable as Barry Fitzgerald's mother in "Going My Way." Her personal favorite was "The Tuttles of Tahiti" with Charles Laughton, based on a script by Iowa's James Norman Hall. Her first film was as Jimmy Stewart's grandmother in 1941's "Come Live With Me". Reynolds also turned to TV parts in such series as "Have Gun, Will Travel." When she died at 98, Reynolds was the oldest active member of the Screen Actors Guild. She was cremated at Evergreen Cemetery and after buried in Westwood Memorial Park.
