She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Theo Smith; her son, John Thomas Mosley; her grandson, Ronald Mosley; her great-granddaughter, Jessica Mosley; her parents; and her siblings.
Survivors include her grandsons, Donnie Mosley and wife, LaJonda of Gordo, Ala. and Tommy Mosley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Mosley of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; her granddaughter-in-law, Linda Hayes of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and her great-grandchildren, Melissa Hayes Smith, Brandy Mosley, John Thomas Mosley IV, and Kasie Mosley.
Vonie was born November 4, 1915, in Gordo, Alabama to the late John J. Connell and Mary E. Pearson Connell. She was a member of Hannah United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and a life long resident of Pickens County.
