1st Lt, US Army Air Forces, during World War II. Killed in action over France.

1Lt Thomas Vaughan O-393165 was the co-pilot on B-17F #41-24602 "Yardbird" on a bombing misson tu U-boot pens in St-Nazaire (France) on May 29th 1943. Over target the ship was damaged by flak, and subsequently shot down by German fighters. The bomber crashed near Pleubian (France). Two killed (co-pilot and engineer), 8 became prisoners of war.
1Lt Thomas Vaughan O-393165 served with 8th Air Force/303rd Bomb Group/360th Bomb Squadron.

Reinterred in Columbia on June 9, 1949.
