James E. Abbott, 58, of Brewerton, died at home on Tuesday, September 11, after a long illness. Jim was the son of the late Wesley and Marion Abbott. He was a graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School and attended Onondaga Community College. He held several jobs throughout his life, but was most proud of his work as a self-employed residential painter. Jim is survived by a son, Thomas of Clay; brothers, David of Rochester and Richard (Barbara) of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. There will be a graveside service of interment of his cremains on Tuesday, September 18, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt at the gravesite of his parents. Friends are invited to attend and may meet at the Randall Rd. entrance of the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.
