Edith Louise Douglas, age 97, passed away on August 22, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Edith was born on June 22, 1915 in Vergas, Minnesota to August Marschall and Emma (Wandrie) Marschall. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1976.

Edith's past-time activities included sharing stories, telling jokes, and reading. She was an avid scrap booker. Her favorite things that she enjoyed the most were exercising, lavender flowers, cinnamon rolls, and eating out at Captain D's Restaurant. She also stayed in daily contact with various church parishioners from Living Grace Fellowship Church in Kansas City, Missouri.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, John William Douglas in 1974.

Survivors of Edith include two sons: Thomas H. "Tommy" Marschall and James W. "Jimmy" Douglas, and a granddaughter Michelle.

A private graveside service for family was held on August 29, 2012 at the Grinnell Township Cemetery, Grinnell, Kansas. A memorial service and celebration of her life was held on September 9, 2012 at the Living Grace Fellowship Church, Kansas City, Missouri with Pastor Jason Frantz officiating.

Arrangements and services were conducted by McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, Kansas City, Missouri and Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley, Kansas.
