Betty Arnold (Clay) Coleman, 68, retired from the MS State Board of Education, died September 11, 2012. Funeral will be Thursday, September 13 at 1 p.m. at Hernando Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Friday, September 14 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton, MS at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Coleman was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson, MS and a former member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Max Coleman of Hernando; two sons, James Gregory Clay of Richland, MS and Ryan Patrick Clay of Hernando, MS; three step-sons, Mark Coleman of Senatobia, MS, Ken Coleman and Creg Coleman, both of Southaven, MS; two sisters, Charlotte Hunter and Kathy Halford, both of Pearl, MS; one brother, Charles "Sonny" Arnold of Crystal Springs, MS; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Barker and Charlie Arnold; one sister, Theresa White Gerrard; and one brother, Wayne Arnold.
