Many relatives and friends assembled at the La Moille church Saturday, Jul. 26, for the funeral of Mrs. Agnes Davis, a resident of Pickwick valley for nearly 50 years.
The Rev. Hale, Winona, officiated and burial was made in the Pickwick Cemetery beside her husband who died 31 years ago.
The paulbearers were Oluf Olson, E. A. Gross, William Harvey, Abel Revoir, George Griffin and John White.
Agnes Doyle was born in Pine Creek Valley Nov. 26, 1859. She was married to George J. Davis 48 years ago and the remainder of her life was spent here. For many years, they resided on the farm now operated by their son, George W. Davis. Later, they moved to a farm nearby where Mr. Davis died February 10, 1899.
Surviving are two sons, George of this place and Clarence of Pickwick Ridge and five grand-children. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Egan, Richmond, and Mrs. Jennie Welch, La Crescent, all of whom attended the funeral.
Other relatives present were Mrs. Otto Zimmerman, Minneapolis; Miss Frieda Welch and Joseph Doyle, La Crescent, and Mr. and Mrs. David Egan, Richmond.
