Jane is a daughter of Robert and Mabel Davis Patterson. She met her husband Oran Emrich in Parsons, Kansas. They married February 14, 1942 at the home of her parents in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas. Oran and Jane are the parents of Patricia Ann Emrich.

At the time of her death Jane and Oran were living in Suitland, Prince Georges County, Maryland. She passed away from Cancer at Alexandria Hospital. Besides her husband and daughter she was survived by two sisters and a brother.
