During the Civil War enlisted as a Private on October 22, 1861 in Company F, 3rd Michigan Cavalry at Kalamazoo, MI. Discharged from Federal Service on December 9, 1862 at Saint Louis, MO.
Grand Rapids Herald, April 29, 1912, page 7:
"David N. Beebe, aged 82, died at his home, 148 Gold Avenue, Sunday. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Roberts of this city, and five sons; Charles Norton, Albert Henry and Daniel E. of this city, and Frank of Kalamazoo. Seven grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery."
