LYONS - Bertha M. Koons, 85, died Saturday at the Lyons District Hospital after a long illness.
She was born May 26, 1886, in Lyons, and married Guy Koons, Oct. 11, 1905, in Lyons. He died in May of 1947. She was a lifelong Lyons resident.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, WSCS and the Women's Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lynn Benefield, Lyons; sons, Wendell, Wichita; Marvin, Lyons; Russell, Alden; sisters, Mrs. A. J. Smith, Lyons; Mrs. Arthur Corl, Englewood, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Crawford-Miller Mortuary, Rev. Gilbert S. Peters. Burial will be in the Lyons
Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
