Claire Barrett Rites Monday At Cedar Falls
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Claire E. Barrett, 30, a junior high science teacher at Marshalltown, Iowa, died yesterday (Aug. 4, 1962) at his home there from a bullet wound that Dr. Harold Sauer, Marshall County medical examiner, said was self-inflicted.

Barrett was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Barrett, 717 Grant St., Cedar Falls, and was graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1949 and the State College of Iowa in 1954.

Surviving are his widow, Marilyn; two children, Alan, age 3 1/2, and Roger, age 1 1/2; and his parents, Alfred and Ellen (Jensen) Barrett. He was preceded in death by a brother, Pfc. Harlan A. Barrett, who was killed in World War II, and a sister, Carol Jean, who passed away in 1930.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Pursel-Davis Memorial Chapel at Marshalltown. Committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Greenwood Cemetery at Cedar Falls.
