Henry was a hardware manufacturer.
Burlington Weekly Free Press, June 23, 1892: "Henry Hagar, son of George I Hagar, and Walter Kern, son of Daniel Kern, were capsized in a little sail boat just inside the breakwater, Thursday afternoon, about 5:10 o'clock. Captain Chiott, who keeps a boat house at the foot of King street, saw the yacht as it tipped over and went to the rescue. They clung to the boat and did not go down at all. Both boys have been on the water more or less, which probably accounts for their thoughtfulness in hanging to the yacht, otherwise they would have drowned before anyone could have got to them."
