C. M. Bearden Died at Billingsley

Charlie M. Bearden, 68, died at a Selma hospital Thursday, February 7th at 7 a.m. following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at eleven o'clock at Bethsalem Church. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Messrs James Donahoo, George C. Acton, E. G. Langston, O. H. Robinson, Calvin Wilkins and Marvin Lovelady. Surviving are three brothers, Mr. Bennett Bearden, Douglasville, Ga.; Mr. Lee Bearden, Jemison; Oben Bearden, Randolph; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Langston, Jemison, and Mrs. Annie Waldrop of Cullman; five sons, A.L. of Billingsley; F. G. of Selma; M. C. of Vida; M. L. of Pletcher; and C. C. of Siluria; four daughters, Mrs. W. W. Whatley, Randolph; Mrs. J. C. Downing, Clanton; Mrs. Peggie Haney, Montgomery and Mrs. W. P. Donahoo, Billingsley. Thirty -two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
