A loving husband, Daddy and PopPop won the victory and received the prize of eternal life on Monday September 10th, 2012. A resident of Osyka, MS and native of Baton Rouge, LA, he was 67. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Payne Tanner; 2 daughters, Stephanie and Joe Johnson and Rebecca and Justin Nowell; 1 son, Greg Tanner, Jr; four grandchildren, Hannah and Tanner House and Carrie and Tyler Nowell; 5 sisters, Mary Beth and Don Hey, Katherine and John Davis, Louise and Harold Mason, Amy and Don Matheny, Leah and Doug Morgan; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Beth Tanner. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 11th 2012 at 3 pm at the Tanner Family Cemetery in Norwood, LA. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday September 12th at 7 pm at House on the Rock Church, Amite, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House on the Rock Church.
