Frank M. Adams Sr.
Frank Mitchell Adams Sr., 97, New Albany, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at his home.
Born Jan. 20, 1915, in Corydon, he was the son of the late William and Mary Rowland Adams.
He was president of Adams Custom Veneers Inc. from 1967 to 1995, having worked in the veneer industry for most of his life, was a fifth-generation member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and, most recently, also a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, was a 57-year member of the New Albany Rotary Club, a member of the Jefferson Lodge of the F&AM and, at 63, graduated from Indiana University Southeast with a degree in general studies concentrating in business and economics.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dorothy Emma Stalker, and a son, Frank M. Adams Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Lois Adams of New Albany, and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 8, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany.
Funeral: Sunday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's United Church of Christ with interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Mark's United Church of Christ.
