Addie's mother was Ila B. Kimbro Overby. She died at the age of 22 due to childbirth complications four days after she gave birth to Addie's infant brother Charles David. Her father, Charles Henry Overby, moved her and her two siblings: Homer Geneva Overby (1928-1933) and Charles David (1930-2007) to his sister's house Addie Velma Overby Young as evidence by 1930 Census. Then her father moved to be closer to his own father who was living in Amboy, Turner County, Georgia temporarily due to his own children's death in North Georgia. This is where Charles Henry met Beatrice. He married Beatrice, and she raised and adopted Evelyn as her own.
