He served in the Naval Reserve. He moved in 1968 to Gaston, and was a warehouseman for Tektronix, for which he worked for 28 years. He had lived in Hillsboro since 1995. A member of Forest Grove Assembly of God Church, he was a deacon, treasurer and sang in the choir. In 1949, he married Doris R. Swihart. Survivors include his wife; sons, Lynn and Gary; daughters, Janice Benintendi, Deborah Winn and Carla Barenberg; brother, Robert; sisters, Darlene Briggs, Jean Hultquist, Joann Gould and Geraldine VanDyke; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
