Garrett Jay Bloomer, lifelong resident of Muscatine, died at 5:20 a.m. today at his home, after a two months illness.
Mr. Bloomer was born in Muscatine, June 9, 1888. His first marriage to Myrtle Shepard was solemnized March 22, 1912, and on Sept. 19, 1933, he married Mrs. Martha Sandler Bloomer. For 12 years he was empioyed by the Bowser and Bloomer Implement company.
Surviving are his wife; mother, Mrs. Dena Bloomer; and the following children, Herbert, Fred, Archie, Mrs. Blanche Carter, and Wallace Bloomer. A sister, Mrs. Robert Shields; and grandson, Keith Bloomer, also survive. A daughter died in fancy. His father, sister, and brother, also preceded him in death.
Burial Friday, in Greenwood cemetry.
