Gloria Geneva “Penny” Morrison was born in Fairfield, Texas, on June 17, 1927, to Myrtle and Louie Chappell.
Geneva graduated from Fairfield High School and Sam Houston State University. She and her husband Donald E. Morrison were married on March 27, 1955, in Magnolia, Texas, where she taught school before they moved to Pasadena, Texas. Geneva was the mother of three sons and taught elementary school in Pasadena ISD, from which she retired with over 30 years in the teaching field. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Pasadena, and enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, Beacons at Second Baptist, Parkview Estates Garden Club and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Donald E. Morrison; her parents Louie and Myrtle Day Chappell; and siblings Dwayne, Billy, Alton and Nella Marie.
Geneva is survived by her children Alan Morrison and wife Carol, Wayne Morrison and wife Mitzi, and Darrell Morrison and wife Melody. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jonathan and Elizabeth Morrison, Thomas and Ashley Morrison, Andrew and Carrie Morrison, Hannah Morrison, Derek Morrison, Dustin Morrison, Natalie Morrison, Allison and Garrett Boland, and Daniel Morrison, as well as three great-grandchildren Jack Morrison, Donald Morrison and Henry Morrison. She will be remembered and missed by numerous friends and family members.
