Hubert Otto Maertz, 71, of 24503 W. Hillcrest Road, Brillion, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 20, at a local hospital.
He was born July 16, 1920 in the Town of Brillion, the son of Leonora (Kunth) Maertz and the late Henry Maertz. He married Ruth Zeamer, September 25, 1948 in Shirley.
He worked at the Brillion Iron Works and was salesman for Mooreman Seed Company. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Kaukauna.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth; his mother, Leonora Maertz; one sister, Ruth Kienetz of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Grace Maertz of Reedsville; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Myron and Hildegard Zeamer, Ervin Sr. and Lois Zeamer, Vernon and Elvira Zeamer, Melvin and Ruth Zeame, all of DePere; Victor and Adeline Blauert of wayside; nieces and nephews, stepnieces and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Viola Zeamer; a brother, Leonard Maertz; two brothers-in-law, Hugo Kienetz, and Hilmer Zeamer.
Friends may call at Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and then at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna from 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, at the church the Rev. Ronald Raddetz officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Maple Grove.
