After the death of her first husband Christoph Seibert (Seybert) in Germany in 1732, she married Heinrich 'Henry' Lorentz ('Lawrence') some four years later. Johanna and Henry immigrated to Pennsylvania with Johanna's son, Jacob Seybert, and other kin, arriving in Philadelphia on 9 Sep 1738. Henry Lorentz was killed by Indians 16 May 1757 in Pendleton [old Augusta] Co., Va. [now W.V.]. Later, Johanna Seibert Lorentz was among those killed by a band of Shawnee under the leadership of Killbuck in the Massacre at Fort Seybert. Those who died with her included her son, Capt. Jacob Seybert, his wife, Maria Elisabetha Theiss Seybert, and at least nine others. Six of her grandchildren were taken prisoner by the Indians.
