After graduation she went to work at Springfield State Hospital where she received training as a licensed practical nurse and met her husband Woodrow B. Golliday. Her husband preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Darlene Kay Henson.
While raising her family Margaret helped to run Golliday's Bus Service and served for many years as the post mistress at the Springfield State Hospital post office. In her spare time she pursued her interests in gardening, ceramics and crafts such as crocheting. While living in Sykesville, she was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Margaret moved to Gainesville in 1985 where she enjoyed retirement and continued to pursue her many interests. She and Woodrow joined Grace United Methodist Church and became active in the church. While her health permitted she was a member of the Crafty Ladies and provided many homemade items for the annual fall bazaar.
Margaret is survived by one brother, Norman R. Pickett Sr. of Westminster, Maryland, a son Bobbie (Diana) Lee Pickett Golliday of Terra Alta, West Virginia, a daughter Margaret (Vernon) Charlene Henson of Sykesville, Maryland and a daughter Joan Golliday of Gainesville, Florida. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, four great-great=grandchildren and 29 nieces and nephews.
Her cremains will be interred with her husband's in the Taylorsville Cemetery at a private service for family members only.
