Postville, Allamakee Co. Iowa
August 14, 1886
OBITUARY.
Cora STILES, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo STILES, died very suddenly at her home in Postville, Iowa, Aug. 11th, 1886, aged 15 years and 11 days. Her death was a surprise to all and the result of inflammation of the bowels. She had been complaining for some time, but was on the street the day before, and ate her breakfast the day of her death. Cora was a kind, modest, christian girl. Her last words were "My sins are forgiven." She had many friends in the Sabbath school who followed her to the grave, and who will remember her kindly. How uncertain is life! She was buried the following day. Her parents have the love of Christ, the sympathy of christians and neighbors to console them.
