Frederick Smith was baptized Johan Friederich Schmidt February 25, 1725 in Weisenheim am Sand (currently part of the Bad Durkheim district), Germany, son of Johan Jacob & Appolonia (Storr) Schmidt. Frederick came over to America with his parents, arriving on October 2, 1727 in Philadelphia aboard the 'Adventure Galley'.

Frederick and Petronella had 11 kids together:

No marker remains for Frederick, but the facts that his wife was buried here 6 years prior and that his estate file notes a stipend paid to 'parson Stake' while at that time the Pastor at Grindstone Hill was Rev John Steck give satisfactory evidence that can be concluded he is buried in this cemetery.
