Gordon L. "Bud" Griffith, 73, of Leesburg, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at Mount Carmel West Hospital in Columbus.

He was born March 8, 1936 in Leesburg, the son of the late Gordon and Violet (Siegel) Griffith.

He was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department. He was a carpenter for most of his working career, and most recently had worked as a driver for Highland County Family Recovery Services.

On Dec. 22, 1962 in Washington C.H., he married his wife of 47 years, Frances (Everhart) Griffith, who survives.

He is also survived by a son, James P. Griffith of Hillsboro; a daughter, Beth E. Magee and her husband David of Leesburg; two grandchildren, Samantha Collier and Matthew Magee; two stepgrandchildren, Robert Hopkins and Mikala Hopkins; a sister, Charlotte (Don) Campbell of Leesburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 at the Leesburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Tom Knauff will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
