Harold is the son of Chester Jerome Kindred Sr. and Mary Etta Robinson Kindred.

Harold served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

He was a pipefitter and a noted leader in the union movement in western Kentucky.

He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, a Duke of Paducah, recipient of the W.C. Young Award for Excellence, honorary deputy sheriff, and honorary Ambassador of Labor.

He was a charter member of the board of directors of the Jackson House and W.B. Sanders Retirement Center.

He was grand marshal of the 21st Annual Labor Day Parade.

He was a retired business manager of Plumber and Steamfitters Local 184 in Paducah.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason of Masonic Lodge No. 127 and a member of Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church.

At the time of his passing he was grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Harold passed away at 9:35 p.m., on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.
He was 80 years of age.
