The daughter of John and Mary (Lustick) Senick, she was born on Dec. 2, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mary dedicated many years of her life to N.B.O.C. Bank in Homer City where she worked as a bank teller. She was known for her warm and friendly demeanor, always having a kind word for her customers. Her daily interactions at the bank were not just transactions, but opportunities to connect with customers. She carried this same spirit of service into her weekend work, where she served many banquets with a smile on her face at various venues throughout Indiana County. After retiring, she loved the time she spent and the friends she made volunteering at Homer-Center Elementary School. Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Homer City Post 493 of the American Legion, and the VFW.
Mary loved to travel. She was ready to go on any adventure at any time with anyone willing. Family was without a doubt Mary's greatest joy and accomplishment. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandma (G.G.), cherishing the time she spent with her loved ones. Family gatherings were her favorite occasions, where she would sit back and watch the laughter, love and life unfold before her eyes. Her family was her world, and she was the heart of her family.
Mary leaves behind her daughter, Janice and husband Jack Bell, of Homer City; daughter-in-law Debi Popp, of Brush Valley; grandchildren Amanda (Ricardo) Josie, Tiffany (Brad) Potts, Janelle (Dexter Gomez) Popp, Jennette (Drew King) Popp and Nicholas Bell; great-grandchildren Avalon, Anyah, Evangeline, Kayden, Ronin, Carter, Kamia and Lydia; and Brandi Rankin, whom she also considered as one of her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Lustick) Senick; her husband, John (Lefty) Popp; her son, John Popp; her brothers, Joseph and John Senick; and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Beacon Ridge staff for their loving care and support!
