Sam Ella Franks Connell, 98, of Brookwood Place, a homemaker, died of heart failure Wednesday at her home. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home with burial in Terry Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 9:30-11a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Connell was a Maben native and had lived in Jackson 55 years. She had also lived in Columbus. She was a volunteer for G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was a lifetime member of D.A.V. and Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, Dennis Connell of Jackson; and brother, Gerald Franks of Greenville.
