Albert Herrmann dies at age 87
Albert Benjamin Herrmann, 87, of Shumway died at 8:52 a.m. Sunday, August 28, 2005, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation in Effingham.
Mr. Herrmann was born May 14, 1918, in Effingham County, the son of Jacob and Ida (Ziegler) Herrmann. He married Lavina Ann Hammer February 18, 1947, at St. Johns; Lutheran Church in Effingham. She died December 28, 2003.
He was a farmer in the Montrose and Shumway areas and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson.
Surviving are his sons, Roger; (wife, Linda) Herrmann of Brownstown, Gail (wife, Linda) Herrmann, Jerry (wife, Kitty Jo) Herrmann, Lee Herrmann, Larry Herrmann, and Mark (wife, Shirley) Herrmann, all of Shumway; Daughters, Margie (husband, Arthur) Sidwell of Brownstown, Jennie (husband, Jack) Hastings of Louisville, Lucy (husband, Dean) Fullinwider of Midland, Texas, Ruby (husband, Larry) Miller of Beecher City, Judy (husband, Roger) Zacha of Shumway; sisters, Luella (husband, Clarence) Kirchhoff of Jacksonville, Viola (husband, Frank) Kirchhoff of Altamont; sister-in-law, Doris Hammer of Effingham; twenty grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Elmer Herrmann, and sister, Ardelia Haack.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson with burial in the Shumway Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at M.A. Neal Funeral Home in Effingham and one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Shumway Kluthe Center or donors choice.
