Born Aug. 16, 1912, in Middletown, she was the daughter of Charles Cornick and Abbie Sater Carden. On March 13, 1937, she married Wilbur L. Allen in Middletown. He died Jan. 14, 1992.
Mrs. Allen graduated from Danville High School and Burlington Business College. She and her husband lived in Middletown until 1941, when they moved to Olds.
She helped her husband on the farm and was active in the United Church of Christ and was chairwoman of the American Cancer Society and president of the hospital auxiliary. She ran the gift shop at the hospital for several years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, craftwork and knitting.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Wells; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson and two sons, one in infancy.
