Lorraine Corless Gardiner, 76, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend left this world as the sun came up September 7, 2012 with her beloved sweetheart by her side at her home as she wished.
She lept into the world February 29, 1936 in Vernal, Utah, beloved daughter of Edward Theodore Corless and Nellie Rachell Holmes Corless.
She married Deloy "Al" Gardiner on February 9, 1953 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 22, 1961. They were happily married 59 1/2 years.
Lorraine was a homemaker raising four children, but her pride and joy was taking care of grandpa, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She taught primary for many years, was a visiting teacher, young married leader and single adult leader for her ward. She liked riding horses and gathering cows with her sweetheart Al. She also liked to garden and to can her own fruits and vegetables. She made sure all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren had a handmade quilt from grandma.
At her home she always had an open door and a place at the table for you. Her house was not a house but a home. We have been blessed to have had her in our lives and to have known her love and beautiful spirit.
She is survived by her husband Deloy "Al" Gardiner and her four children, Larry LD (Joyce) Gardiner, Gay (Bert) Clark, Chris (Jocelyn) Gardiner, Joe (Cindy) Gardiner; Siblings, LaRue (Clyde) Woods, Betty (Harvey) Padgett, Clifton (Barbara) Corless, Clifta (John) Keyes, Elaine Corless sister-in-law; grandchildren, Sami, Jennifer, Josh, Nikki, Jake, and Amanda, and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ted Corless.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Davis 1st Ward Chapel (3990 South 1500 East) at 11am.
Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6~8pm at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the chapel.
Interment will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery.
