William Walker appears to have come from N. Ireland, to Boston, 1718, in a fleet of Scotch-Irish immigrants.
In 1736, he contracted for land in Warren, ME, on the St George River. His name, and that of his son John Walker, are carved on a stone commemorating the first settlers, there.
He joined the expedition for the Seige of Louisbourg, N.S., and the family lived there for a few years, before settling in Worcester, 1747. The house he built on Salisbury St. stood there until about 1897. It became known as the Bancroft House. The Bancroft family bought it from the Walker family, and the famous historian, George Bancroft was born there in 1800.
William Walker married Mary (surname unknown), and their children were John, Joseph, Adam, Isabel, Nancy, and Mary.
Sons, John and Adam were active Loyalists during the Revolution, and left the country.

William Walker's will was written 25 May,1760.
It is uncertain as to where he was buried, however his daughter-in-law was buried in the Old Burial Ground, on Worcester Common, so there was probably a Walker family plot there.

There are no known burial places for William's sons, Loyalists,John and Adam Walker. John Walker probably died in England after 1788. Adam Walker settled in Digby, Nova Scotia, and was lost at sea, about 1804.
However, William's grandson, John Walker's memorial is #58507903.
