Mrs. Rigdon, 65, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was the backbone of the family and made sure the family businesses were running properly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a woman of strong Christian faith, with a large, giving heart.
Survivors include sons, Scottie Stevens and wife, Brenda, Jerome Rigdon and Jamie Rigdon, all of Meridian; sister, Joanne Burnham and husband, Gene, of Philadelphia; brothers, Yates McDonald and wife, Margaret, of Philadelphia, Terry McDonald and wife, Beth, of Louisville, and Delane McDonald and wife, Rita Faye, of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon Champ and Ruby McDonald; and her loving husband, Wilbur Rigdon Sr.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the unknown angels at Outback Steakhouse in Meridian, who did everything they could to help their mother.
Visitation will be held Monday, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
