Death of Killion P. Long
Killion P. Long, one of Lexington's most highly respected citizens, died Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock at his home on Twenty-sixth street, after an illness of three weeks with complication of diseases.
The deceased was born in Lexington, Ky., March 26, 1851. He came to Lafayette County with his parents in 1862, and with the exception of eight years in Colorado, had lived in this community all his life. He was married to Miss Katherine Mott in this city February 21, 1876, who with three sons and six daughters survives. The children are: J.A. Long, Thermopolis, Who.; O.K. Long, Los Angeles, Cal.; F.K. Long, Mrs. Otto George, Mrs. Fay Hisey, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mrs. Elaine Moody, all of Kansas City; Mrs. R.H. Nagle, San Antonio, Tex.; Mrs. Wm. Baehr, El Paso, Tex. He is also survived by four brothers, Geo. M., and Joseph L. Long, of this city; Henry P. Long and Father John S. Long, of St. Louis, and one sister, Mrs. Joe Weising, Kansas City.
The funeral was held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from the Catholic church.
