Hans was born in Ringe, Denmark, on the island of Fyn to his parents, Mads Jorgensen and Christina Nielsen. He came to America in 1881 at age 21. and moved to the Omaha area where he lived with his wife Petrea Marie Rasmussen, also from Denmark. They had three children: Martinus Fredrick born in 1887, Clara (Reard) 1893-1969, and Stella Marie (Elliott)1900-1962. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Society of Omaha, Nebraska. My mother told me he built houses in the North Omaha area. He built the house where his daughter Stella would eventually live and where her daughter Viola was born.
