Mrs. Julie Lynn (Dorris) Council, 54, of Troy went home to be with the Lord at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A celebration of life service for Julie will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. Brother Steve Carr and Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of services at Calvary Baptist Church.
Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy for a graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wills, Jay Spaulding, Jamie Spaulding, Steve Tittle, B.J. Phillips and Ralph Norman.
Julie was born February 8, 1958, in Springfield, Tennessee, daughter of Mae (Murrah) Dorris of Jackson and the late Wayne C. Dorris. She married Terry Council on July 21, 1975. He survives. Julie was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy and a homemaker.
She is also survived by two daughers and her son-in-law, Mandi and George Ortega of Stockton, California, and Beth Tolley of Troy; her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sarah Council of Lexington, South Carolina; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Lynn Dorris of Maryville; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.W. and Nancy Shelton of Union City; and five grandchildren.
