Company F (Rough and Ready Guards from Buncombe County, N.C.), 14th North Carolina Infantry "Last At Appomattox!", Ramseur's Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Resided in Buncombe County, N.C., and was by occupation a farmer prior to enlisting in Buncombe County on May 3, 1861, at age 27.
Mustered in as Private and was elected 3rd Lieutenant to rank from April 27, 1862.
Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on April 27, 1863. Present or accounted for until wounded at Chancellorsville, Virginia, May 1-3, 1863. Rejoined the company prior to July 1, 1863, and was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on March 1, 1864.
Present or accounted for until MWIA/KIA in Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Va.

The 14th Infantry Regiment, formerly the 4th Volunteers, completed its organization in June, 1861, at Garysburg, North Carolina.
