Son of Eliphalet, who was the son of Eliphalet, who was the son of Job, who was the son of Richard, who was the son of Benjamin, who was the son of Richard per the Cornish History book.
The Kimbals or Kemballs came to America in 1634. Richard came on the ship "Elizabeth" and soon after landing, settled in Watertown and afterward in Ipswich, Mass..

William was a farmer, a man of good administrative ability and of fine personal appearance. He inherited not a little of the force and energy of character of his grandfather, William Ripley, for whom he was named.
He and his wife Eliza had 12 children.
