Ruth Moudy Park, age 89 of Kingsport and formerly of Springfield, died Saturday September 1, 2012 at Westford House Nursing Home in Kingsport.
She was born June 20, 1923 in Robertson County to the late Sarah Cordelia Ward Moudy and Joseph Edward Moudy, Sr.
Mrs. Park was also preceded death by her husband, Robert Jackson Park; grandson, Jamin Melton Dodd; and brother, Joseph Edward Moudy Jr.
She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, active in Genealogy work in both Middle and East Tennessee, a volunteer at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield and was retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services.
Mrs. Park is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Ann Park (Melton) Dodd of Kingsport and Sarah Jo Park (Terry) Sharp of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Naomi Elizabeth Dodd, Rachael Elizabeth Dodd, and Troy Jackson Dodd. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Martin Babb officiating.
Burial will be held Tuesday at 3:00 PM in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.
