"Ordnance Guards (Captain Dotterer)
and the 1st Palmetto Sharp Shooters,
the Jenkins Regiment."

Wife wrote that he enlisted with the
1st Volunteers of SC. He started with
the infantry, went to the cavalry, then
went back to the infantry... and that
he "served throughout the war." She
wrote this on 16 Sep 1915 for a U.S.
Confederate Pension form.
