RONNIE E. HUBBARD POUND, VA –
Ronnie Hubbard, 67, born 4/24/45 in Pound, VA, passed from this life September 1, 2012. Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Elvra "Sheriff" Hubbard and Bertha Chester Hubbard both of Pound.

Ron is survived by his wife, Lynda Dotson Hubbard; daughters, MaLora Kingery of Vinton, VA and Veronica Hubbard of Roanoke, VA; his sons, Daren (Jamie ) Hubbard of Williamsport, PA and Jamie (Michelle) Hubbard of Lexington, KY. he is survived by his grandchildren: A.J., John and Toni Lee Kingery of Vinton, VA; Kassidy Quinn Hubbard of Blountville, TN; Ronnie L. and Josh Z. Hubbard of Williamsport, PA; Sebastian G. McReynolds of Bristol, VA; Garland Joe McCarthy, Richard E. Goodwin Jr. and Peyton L. Long of salem , VA; and Ethan and Elissa Branham-Hubbard of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary E. Mullins of Fairfield, CA; Norma G. Grimes of Orange Park, FL; Thomas O. Hubbard of Augusta, GA; Everett J. Hubbard of Chester, SC; Beatrice L. Duncan of Little River, SC; Shirley M. Meade of Pound, VA and Darlene W. Moore of Wise, VA. There are a myriad of nephews, nieces and friends who will be holding Ron in their hearts.

Ron spent most of his life in the Southwest Virginia area, working in the coal industry. He served in the National Guard many years during the Vietnam era. He participated in several community projects to better the town he loved. He was with the Wise County Clean County Committee for a number of years as well as with a Concerned Citizen's group for better local government. He was and Elder and leader in the family home church, First Presbyterian of Pound, and a neighbor who was alert to the needs of the people he loved so much. Ron loved to garden and to cook. He shared his bakery productions, jams and jellies with grateful friends and neighbors.

We celebrate his passing into the home where there is no pain and much rejoicing. However all of his loved ones will miss him at his place in our family circle until we meet again. The family will receive friends Monday September 3, 2012from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Baker Funeral Home. The service led by Reverend Will Gipe and members of the family will begin at 7:30 Graveside services will be at Dewey Memorial Cemetery-Pound, VA Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 11:30 am .Pallbearers will be Darren and Jamie Hubbard, Shane Moore, Randy Bush, A.J. Kingery and Eddie Meade. Family and friend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to prepare to in procession to the cemetery.
