Cassie Ruth Grubaugh was born in 1892 to Charles Riley Grubaugh and Martha Ann Wilson. She was the second of their five children and the oldest daughter. She was known as "Ruth" for most of her life. The family relocated from Illinois to Texas in 1904. Her father died in1907. The two youngest siblings were placed temporarily At the Masonic Home in Ft Worth.. In 1910, Ruth is listed with her mother and two of her brothers. On 26 Jun 1910, just two months after the census, Ruth married Eugene Morton Cullins. They were parents of at least four children, two dying at birth. The children who survived infancy were Charlene Octa Cullins, born 29 Oct 1911, and John Riley Cullins, born 14 Jun 1914. Ruth and Eugene enjoyed more than 60 years together prior to his death in 1971. Ruth died in 1976.
