Born October 31, 1932 in Lumpkin County to the late Ode and Dolly Reeves, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed at Sweet-Orr, Kabar and USI Industries.
She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Wilburn Smith and Charles “Short” Abernathy; brothers, Horace Reeves, Gene Reeves, Jack Reeves, Jimmy Reeves; and sisters Pauline Reeves and Edna Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held Sunday September 9, 2012 at 2 o’clock at Harmony Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
