Funeral services for Josephine Deters, 74,
lifetime Plymouth county resident, were held
Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic
church, Le Mars. Rev. Leo Harpenau, a
nephew, officiated. Burial was in Calvary
cemetery under direction of the Luedtke
funeral home.
Miss Deters died unexpectedly Friday at
her home in Le Mars. She had been a
homemaker on a farm south of Le Mars and
moved to Le Mars in April this year. Her
parents were the late John and Caroline
Deters. She was never married.
Survivors are two brothers, John and
Anthony, Le Mars, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph
Kolbeck. She was a member of the Third
Order of St. Francis.
She was preceded in death by her parents
and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Freking, Mrs.
Bernadine Harpenau, Mrs. Theresa Ruether,
Mrs. Elizabeth Puthoff and Sister Mary
Fabian; two brothers, Frank and William, and
by three brothers and a sister in infancy.
