Albert Ray Bibie, 69, of Edinburgh, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Mr. Bibie was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Indiana Army National Guard.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid country music fan. He enjoyed eating breakfast at Hardee's with the guys and hanging out at Thornton's.

Born May 23, 1943, in Campbellsville, Ky., Mr. Bibie was the son of John W. and Nellie Mae Smith Bibie.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela (Kevin) Stanton of Camby; a son, Samuel S. Wilcoxon of Columbus; a brother, Mitchell Bibie of Columbus; 10 grandchildren, Derek Wilcoxon, Kymber Perkins, Eleni Hobbs, Sidney Wilcoxon, Nicholas Hobbs, Jacob Wilcoxon, Anna Wilcoxon and Emily, Sarah and Grace Stanton; and two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Addisyn Perkins.

Mr. Bibie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Bibie; and three sisters, Delphas Mae Swafford, Pearlie Miller and Ida Patton.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington St., Columbus, with Pastor Marvin Brown officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. Full military rites will be presented by Indiana Army Reserve National Guard Ceremonial Unit.
