Roy Lee Breckenridge, 71, died Aug. 22, 2012, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
His family will spread his ashes on the land that he loved during a celebration of his life.
Roy was born in Dallas, Texas, on Nov. 6, 1940. He was a lifelong member and retired Teamster of Local 959.
Roy later retired from the Alaska State Troopers after eight years of service. He was also a member of the Pioneers of Alaska.
Roy loved animals and had many dogs, cats and horses over the years. He loved rodeos and would often participate in them in his younger years.
From his early years in Fairbanks, after he moved to Anchorage and then to the Mat-Su Valley in the 1970s, he had various projects of working on and building cars, trucks or hunting vehicles.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and would sometimes bring his horses on hunting trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy McDougal and Goldie Mae Breckenridge; his sisters, Shirley Geary and Patricia Lamb; and granddaughter, Natasha Breckenridge.
Surviving are son, Ronald and Alissa Lundfelt; son, Russell and Jacqueline; daughter, Janice and Frank Petersen; seven grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Arnell.
