Adolph Barta Sr. burial to be at St. James
Mr. Adolph J. Barta, Sr., died Sunday, March 4, at the age of 80. The services will be held at the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home officiated by Rev. James Kotara with interment in the St. James Cemetery.
Mr. Barta was born in Gonzales County on August 21, 1909 to Frank and Alousie (Malatek) Barta. He married Petronilla Volf November 10, 1930 and they made their home in the Watson community where he was a rancher.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Adolph J. (Sonny) Barta, Jr., Marvin L. Barta, Loretta S. Spahn and Bobby G. Barta; two brothers, Frank Barta and Alfon Barta; two sisters, Mary Baumann of New Braunfels and Bessie Benes; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jerry and a grandson, Jeffery Blane Barta.
Pallbearers will be Rex Spahn, Tim Barta, Lorne Barta, Rodney Barta, Matt Spahn, Max Barta and Scott Barta.
