He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Peebles; his parents; brothers, Burnel, Bob, Roy, and Lynford Bethurem; and granddaughter, Angela Rhoten.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilma (Bench) Bethurem; sisters, Mary Ellen Politano and Phyllis Boehm; sons, Dwight (Janice) and Keith Bethurem, (Patty); and daughter, Leta Massengale. Floyd also leaves behind nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Floyd served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral on Sunday, September 9, 2:00 p.m., both in Kinser Chapel, 3871 S. State Hwy J, Springfield, Mo. Arrangements will be handled by Preston-Marsh Funeral Home from Rogersville. Published in the News-Leader on September 7, 2012.
