Harry B Brown, youngest son of Saml. H. Brown, head of the shipping department of Frick Co., died at his home at Roadside at 4:15 o'clock Sunday morning, after an illness of a month from asthma and heart trouble. For several years he had been a sufferer form asthma but the affliction did not assume a critical form until last month.
Mr Brown was born at Roadside, 38 years ago, and lived there throughout his life. He worked for a number of years in the machine shop of Frick Co. but except for that, spent all his life on the farm. He was a tall, active man and most energetic in the performance of his duties until the last few years. He was a capable farmer and believed in the use of modern methods. He was prominent as a Republican politician and had much influence in the first district of Washington township.
He was a member of the Methodist church and a teacher in the Mount Joy Sunday School, Raodside, of which his father is superintendant. He was earnest in his efforts for the upbuilding of the Sunday school. He was a member of Uncas Tribe, No. 101, I.O. Red Men, and Waynesboro council, No. 760, Jr O.U.A.M.
Mr Brown was a man of much force of character, strong in his convictions and unfaltering in his support of them. He was very helpful to the people of his community and many there will testify to his charity. He was popular in a large circle of friends.
Mr Brown is survived by his parents, his widow and four children; Jacob, Merle, Hixon, amd Marie; one sister, Mrs D E Thomas, Roadside, and one brother, Lewis S., Rouzerville, now ill in a Baltimore Hospital.
Funeral Tuesday. Service at the house, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. F C Buyers. The choir of the Mount Joy church, by Mr Brown's request, sang at the services. Internment in Burn's Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
