Tuesday, December 17, 2002, Public Opinion, Chambersburg, Pa. FANNETTSBURG -- Sue M. Cowan, 93, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly of Fannettsburg, died at 6 a. m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in the nursing home. Born Aug. 14, 1909, in Metal Township, she was the daughter of the late Orbison C. and Margaret Jane Heath Gordon. Mrs. Cowan was a member of the former United Methodist Church in Fannettsburg. A homemaker, she was married to John D. Cowan, who died on Sept. 4, 1980. Surviving are a son, Wesley Gene Cowan of Fannettsburg; a daughter, Patricia C. Heckman of Chambersburg; three grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Francis Umbrell of Fannettsburg, who was raised in the Cowan home. She was preceded in death by three sons who died in infancy and a grandson. Private service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Martin R. Brown Funeral home, Orbisonia. The Revs. Ted Hale and Marlin "Butch" Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap. A public viewing will be from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.
